Diagnosing of periodontal disease

As previously said, periodontal disease is often not diagnosed and not treated.  How do we diagnose for periodontal disease.  In the initial stage you have to come for a comprehensive evaluation.  A full mouth examination with in depth soft tissue evaluation will take place. 

– periodontal charting

-measuring of the pockets depth

-assessment of bone loss on x-rays, opg (orthopantomogram)

-evaluating boneloss either through existing x-rays or we will take some.

-assessment of risk factors, old crowns, fillings,

– assessment of soft tissue, tongue and cheeks,

– assessment of your bite, occlusal analysis.

Once we have all the results and are able give you a better idea of you periodontal status we set up a treatment plan.
